It is already having a profound impact on human inequity, by negatively impacting food production, biodiversity, migration and human disease patterns. There is an urgent need for action. As a Faculty, we are passionate about finding solutions to the climate crisis and creating leaders who are taking action in the areas of climate, sustainability and planetary health.

Chemical engineering professor Dr. Naoko Ellis said direct air capture, which involves removing carbon from the atmosphere, rather than at the source of production, could play a role in sectors such as aviation and concrete manufacturing where emissions will be more difficult to reduce.
